Be Jeweled with Allison Moses
She’s more than a friend. She’s a stylist + founder of Allison Daniel Designs.
Our relationship goes something like this: I create the outfits, she elevates them.
In photoshoots, what I always see Allison do is play with the proportions, styling anything from long necklaces to chokers (Discover below). To draw attention to my hands and wrists, I love to wear a great cuff and stacked rings. This is important if you think about how you use your hands to communicate, hold things and pretty much everything else you do!

L : Over the years, you’ve mastered the art of styling. What are some styling tips you can share with us?
A : Firstly, let the outfit create the mood. Secondly, I tell people to think about what you are pairing with and the lines of your body and the clothing. It’s really helpful when you can adjust the length of a chain or move a pendant or charm from a choker to a long open link and everything in between. Every time it feels so different with the outfits and people changing— the interchangeable pieces give you the most options in the most effortless way.
L : For me, I feel more confident when I’m wearing my jewelry. [laughing]
Why do you think that is?
A : Jewelry hides your imperfections. If you draw attention to your best features, people will not pay attention to the features you like the least. Jewelry is a piece of art and bringing it to life happens when it’s mixed with the personality wearing it and the style that person pulls together. You will get compliments when you wear jewelry that speaks to you, regardless of price point.
L : I couldn’t agree more! I have pieces that range from very budget-conscious to one of a kind / special occasion.
A : Exactly. Ultimately, it’s about how the design makes you feel.
Her lifelong sweet-spot of designing and selling jewelry keeps her creative juices flowing.
L : What’s your proudest moment you’ve had so far with your own brand?
A : That’s an interesting one - the endless thank you’s I hear from clients, telling me how special my jewelry styling has made them feel.
We talked about how we each have “go to” looks and that although you might be a creature of habit with your clothing …. you can take an old black dress or your same jeans and v-neck tee shirts and with new jewelry additions, you can re-imagine your clothes again and again.
Her jewelry highlights one’s clothes, style and personal features. Adding jewelry finishes any look, no matter how casual the outfit might be. Accessories are so important once you have decided on a top and bottom or skirt, dress etc… whether it’s the just right shoe, a great belt, or getting your hair done (for me, this is key) - you add dimension and style when you complete an outfit. Then…. jewelry is the finishing touch (like the icing on a cake) making your look feel special or complete. I like layering my jewelry unless I’m wearing a single statement piece that really deserves to stand alone. I also tend to mix metals - especially for everyday dressing.
