Bio
Lifelong creative, Laura Maged has embraced her passion for art and is the curator of Art & About: LA. She is also a fashion enthusiast, boy mom, dog lover, sports maven and the biggest fan of all things Los Angeles!
Laura grew up in New York and after graduating University of Michigan in 1989 she started her career in fashion at Anne Klein. Taking a circuitous route with jobs in television for the KTLA Morning News and Dennis Miller, jobs in elementary eduction teaching 3rd and 4th grade, and many years volunteering and raising her children; she returned to fashion, founding her own curated boutique called WEST. After moves between LA and CT, Laura worked as the Fashion Editor of West Luxury and Westlake Magazines in LA, consulting for retail stores, and styling clients.
After the pandemic as the world re-opened she found that many friends requested to join her on visits to art museums, fairs and other cultural excursions. This prompted the creation of Art & About, launched on the east coast: a fun way for small groups to enjoy art and cuisine as well as each other’s company! Now residing almost full time in Los Angeles, she is curating Art & About: LA. The city of Los Angeles is booming with visual arts, cultural experiences and amazing cuisine and is full of interesting and interested individuals!
