ART & ABOUT: MONUMENTS
JANUARY 8TH AT 11:30 AM
Join us on January 8, 2026 at 11:30 AM for a docent-led tour of MONUMENTS at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.
This timely and powerful exhibition brings together decommissioned monuments from across the United States, capturing this pivotal moment of monument removal. Presented in states ranging from pristine to heavily vandalized, these works reveal the complicated legacies and public debates that surround them. Each monument is shown alongside contemporary artworks created or borrowed specifically for the exhibition, offering fresh perspectives on how history is shaped, challenged, and reimagined.
As the Los Angeles Times notes,
“‘MONUMENTS,’ the all-caps in the title sounding a loud alarm, is the most significant show in an American art museum right now.”
After the tour, we’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch at MANUELA, the celebrated courtyard restaurant in the Hauser & Wirth complex—an ideal setting to continue the conversation and kick off our 2026 season together.
Cost of tour: $115 (includes private docent and museum entrance, lunch not included). Book below!
